A harmonious home thoughtfully designed for functionality and playfulness, featuring seamless zoning, an inviting open-concept living space with natural materials, and a versatile family playroom—all tailored perfectly for family living and creating lasting memories.
This project is proof that sometimes, all it takes is an openness to new ideas to create a space full of life and harmony. Initially, the clients did not want to alter the layout, but my design convinced them that a change in the floor plan would lead to a significantly more functional arrangement. Thanks to these modifications, seamlessly connected zones were created, perfectly catering to the needs of family life.
The design emphasizes functionality, aesthetics, and well-thought-out zoning, all tailored to the dynamics of family living. The ground floor is dominated by an open-concept space that connects the kitchen, dining area, and living room, creating a harmonious and airy environment. The kitchen features a practical island with seating, serving not only as a meal preparation area but also as the heart of everyday family life. The combination of natural materials such as wood and light surfaces brings warmth and a timeless appeal to the interior.
The living area is designed as a peaceful retreat, featuring comfortable seating, a fireplace, and ample storage integrated into elegant shelving systems. Distinctive accents, such as designer lighting and decorative elements, add a personal touch to the space.
On the upper floor, a family playroom meets both playful and relaxation needs. This multifunctional space includes a game table, a cozy sofa, and a reading nook with a garden view, enhanced by a large window that allows plenty of natural light to flow in. The zoning of this area ensures that each family member can find their own space—whether for fun, rest, or conversation.
The interior proves that the fusion of functionality and aesthetics can be achieved in every corner of the home. The entire project embodies comfort, modern elegance, and attentiveness to family needs—an ideal place where a family can grow and create beautiful memories together.
Our experience with furnishing a house was practically zero. During the project and implementation phases of construction, we focused more on the quality of the build and the technical equipment of the house, and there wasn't much time for browsing design magazines. However, during the construction of the rough structure, we started receiving questions about details that we gradually thought through, and it began to dawn on us that every poorly thought-out decision would regret us in the future, as we would live with it every day and any modifications would be expensive (moreover, any changes in an inhabited house are painful). That's why we came up with the idea of looking for an interior designer who could help us in this regard. I must say that the cooperation with Ivana was a relief for me and my husband - out of several proposals, we chose one concept that subtly runs throughout the house. We have been living in the house for 3 years now and you could say we are done, but we are still finalizing small details. I often go back to the visualizations and proposals to check the colors or suppliers of the designed carpets, tables, paintings, and lamps. And I am still amazed at the level of detail in Ivana's design! The entire collaboration with Ivana and her meticulous design saved us a lot of nerves, unnecessary mistakes, time, and of course, money.
